Matt, EJ, Mike & the rest of the Pendola Training Team,
I can't thank you enough for the time you spent with me. You welcomed me in, shared your knowledge, years of lessons learned, and embraced me as if I was a member of your team. I think that is a true testament of the culture you've created at your facility. I feel like I only scraped the surface of the training system you've created but more than anything I walked away with a vision of how I want to model my business.
Here are a few things I noticed and walked away with while shadowing:
The Approach: Your team takes a very clinical approach to everything they do and all share/implement the training system/philosophies you have created.
The Assessment: I've never seen such a detailed client assessment before, and after seeing it I'm shocked this isn't a standard in the industry.
Innovation: You and your team are revolutionizing the way we think about functional training from your toes up. You name it.. the programs, progressions, exercises, tools, and environment. The name MacGyver comes to mind. You adapted your training system to the facility creating drills/exercises using anything and everything available from the staircase to the extensive TRX and Band attachment setup. And come on... who else has an indoor sandpit?
Education and Humility: I love that each member of your team comes from a different discipline, and everyone is encouraged to collaborate and share their knowledge/experiences. The thirst for knowledge and continued education starts at the top and trickles down to the entire team.
RESULTS: both in the gym and on the field. You and your team have created an elite athlete factory. It's one thing to take a naturally gifted athlete to the next level... it's quite another to have a 70 year old man with 2 knee replacements and a history of heart attack performing as if he is in his prime. And of course all of the other intangibles your clients walk away with... the discipline, nutritional advice, organization, and the understanding of why they are doing something and how it translates to their sport or life.
Coming from a strength background, I was extremely impressed at your clients demonstration of functional strength and even more impressed by their ability to maintain their strength in a state of fatigue.
Thanks again for everything!
